On 10 March 2026, the Government of Mozambique adopted three pieces of legislation relevant to Digital Transformation, namely:
- Repeal of Decree No. 61/2017, of 16 November (creating INAGE - National Institute of Electronic Government, Public Institute) and, in its place, creation of the Agency for Digital Transformation and Innovation, Public Institute. The Agency for Digital Transformation and Innovation, Public Institute, is a legal entity under public law, with special status, Category A, endowed with legal personality, administrative, financial and patrimonial autonomy and responsible for providing services and coordinating the digital transformation process, namely the merger or interoperability of platforms, data centres, procurement processes and systems for providing services to the public.
- Creation of the National Commission for Artificial Intelligence. The National Commission for Artificial Intelligence is a body that provides consultation and technical advice to the Government on scientific matters, technological development, innovation and information security, in matters related to Artificial Intelligence
- Creation of the Multisectoral Technical Commission for the Coordination and Implementation of Digital Transformation. The Multisectoral Technical Commission for the Coordination and Implementation of Digital Transformation is a technical body for coordinating the implementation of digital transformation, aimed at supporting the modernisation and digitisation of public administration.
