Gil Cambule, leader of the Telecommunications, Media andTechnologies team at Cambule & Américo, was one of the guest speakers at the Ethics, Compliance and Privacy Conference promoted by Vodacom Mozambique, held on Thursday, 9 October, in Maputo, which was also attended by representatives from the Attorney General's Office, INTIC, FSDMoç and IGC-MZ.
In his speech entitled ‘Data Governance in Mozambique: Regulatory Present and Perspectives,’ Gil Cambule highlighted the main challenges and advances in the country in building a robust legal and institutional ecosystem for data governance in Mozambique.
He stressed the need for cross-cutting and coordinated governance, involving the state, the private sector and civil society, and argued that ‘there is no governance without aware people, strong technology and clear processes.’
His participation reaffirms the role of Cambule & Américo as a national reference in legal reflection and practice on digital law, data protection and technological ethics.
